Speaking slots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are 16 sessions total available at 45 minutes each in two separate rooms, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a lunch break in between. The event will begin with a general introduction at 9:00 AM and finish at 6:00 PM with a moderated panel. Cocktails and additional networking will follow.
Please contact us via our Speaker Sign-Up with your idea and we will get back to you about times available. We are curating this at the front end just to make sure we don’t end up with spammers and that we have a good variety and balance of topics.
If you speak, your registration fee will be waived. Once we’ve figured out when you’re speaking, we’ll give you a coupon code to register on Eventbrite for free.
We’re working on making sure that you get a podium, laptop, projector, screen and microphone, but be prepared to speak off the cuff, if necessary. As we continue to organize, we’ll keep you posted on what’s happening with technology support and we’ll pay attention to your individual needs.
Please arrive early to set up and remember to leave enough time at the end for audience discussion and Q & A. There may or may not be a moderator for your session; as in a BarCamp unconference, you might be on your own, but we know you, you’ll do great! We’ll have volunteers in each room to make sure you get what you need if there are any glitches.
Please use your session to inspire, educate and inform. While we do encourage you to promote your brand and business, HeartCamp sessions are not advertising platforms. Network in the reception room as much as you like but use your speaking session to share. If you are an author, we can arrange a spot for you to sell and sign some copies of your book.
Remember that camp-style unconferences are very casual, relaxed events, so come and talk about what you know best and from the heart. It’s about dialogue, even though you are a speaker. And don’t fret if people come and go from your session. Some participants might want to network outside, visit an exhibitor or catch the speaker in the other room. Again, it’s very relaxed.
We kindly ask that you honor your commitment to speak at the event but if you must cancel, please let us know as soon as possible so that others may have the opportunity to speak.
